Snow Day?

snow
We're wishing for a snow day this weekend! Last time it snowed in Auburn, Matthew and I were on our way home from visiting my sister Audrey and her husband Jake in Hendersonville, NC. Unfortunately, we spent most of the day stuck in snow traffic in-and-around Atlanta. The trip normally takes about four hours, but that day it took eight! So, it was already dark by the time we got home. We did manage to roll up a quick snowman on the back porch to grab a few pictures. He was all decked-out with gumball eyes and a bottle cap mouth!
Photobucket
Needless to say, I think King could live without it all! I'm still keep my fingers crossed!

A couple of weeks ago, Matthew and I co-hosted a couples shower at our home with Bradley and Isaac Robertson for our good friends Andy and Stacey Jordan. They are expecting their first child, Oliver Liam, on January 25th. We couldn't be more excited for them! If I know Stacey, Oliver will be completely spoiled...the way every child should be!

I was super excited about hosting my fist baby shower, and I wanted everything to be special. So, I had my mother, Rita Carr, paint the stork illustration that I applied to the invitations. After that, the nesting theme was born and I literally when crazy!
Photobucket
I knew I wanted to make Stacey a diaper cake, but I wasn't sure how I was going to "dress" it up. After looking at several online, I decided to make burp cloths to cover each tier so that the fabrics coordinated with the shower. I think it turned out pretty cute, especially with the bird nest topper. Plus, she got a total of 5 new burp cloths! Who doesn't like that!?!
Photobucket
Since it was a couples shower, we had to have a gender friendly menu! *L* So, instead of girly finger foods, we had meatball sandwiches, antipasto squares, seven layer dip, hot wings, rotel dip and chocolate covered bird nests cookies for dessert! It was all so yummy! Definitely a menu to keep!

Bradley and I thought blue hydrangeas would be perfect, and since mine were blooming like crazy mid-November (weird, right?) we used them everywhere!
Photobucket
My sister, Audrey Walter, made these gorgeous wreaths for the front doors. They were the perfect touch, and I've been enjoying them ever since. Thanks sis!!
Photobucket
And, yes, they were the lucky winners of the Tiger Corey Bubble. It should be perfect for little Oliver next football season! And, isn't Andy hilarious in this photo?? *L* Now I have a good idea of what Oliver will look like wearing the outfit!! :)

Congratulations Andy and Stacey!! xoxo Hannah

Tiger, Tiger

tiger1
Well, it seems that it was time for another baby shower and, yes, another Corey Bubble by Maja's Heirlooms! I'm pretty sure that you all think this is the only thing I'm capable of making, but they are super easy and so cute! I just can't resist! Plus, the more you make, the better you get at making them. I'm pretty sure this is the best one I've constructed so far!
tiger2
The smocking plate is Tiny Tigers by Chris Pearce. I had a hard time finding it online, so if you come across it at a smocking store, be sure to pick it up. It's absolutely the most adorable tiger I've ever seen! It's so much fun to make with several bullions and french knots.
tiger3
But, for now, I promise: I will not post another Corey Bubble. At least for a bit! I'm finishing up a few other goodies that I can't wait to share, and I'm sure you'll all love! xoxo Hannah

Whoo-Who

Photobucket
My wonderful sister, Audrey, saw an article in the October issue of Southern Living with these adorable Easy Owl-Ween Treats. She made them for the kids in her neighborhood for Halloween.
Photobucket
I thought it would be a yummy dessert for my monthly Supper Club with the girls. So, I recruited my sister-in-law Abbie to help assemble. I think I'll hire her again....she did an excellent job!

Heather Bailey's Favorite Knot

Photobucket
If you're an avid sewer like myself, you're aware of the occasional "hand-sewing" that is required by most projects. It could be anything from a button to a hem, but most projects do require using the old-school needle and thread. Unfortunately, I'm not the best thread-knotter! I have always struggled with it...that is, until I became a fan of the wonderful fabric designer, Heather Bailey!
Photobucket
She has a tutorial on her blog (yes, isn't that sad *L*) for those of us who need an quick and easy answer to the knot! It has really saved my life, especially with smocking. So, definitely check it out! You'll be glad you did!

It's A Boy!

ashley1
Our great friends, Brian and Brigitte Ashley, announced last week at a surprise "Coming-Out" Dinner Party, that they will be having a baby boy! His name is William "Banks" Ashley. He already sounds so smart and sophisticated! I can't wait to spoil him rotten!!
ashley2
Another friend, Anna Hovey, made these adorable shortbread cookies in both pink & blue. So, Brigitte and Brian stuck their hands inside a bag and pulled out the blue cookies to tell us all their wonderful news! It was such a cute idea and we were tickled-blue to be included!
ashley3
Since we didn't know what sex to expect, Matthew and I took a boy onesie and a girl onesie. Both were designed by Leigh Hinton. Be sure to check out her Facebook page and become her friend and fan! She's got lots of hand-dyed onesies in different sizes, perfect for such an occasion as this! I liked this one for a boy because it looks like a little deer, perfect for a future sportsman!
ashley4
And, here's the proof! It's a little hard to read, but the arrow points to the jewels!! Congratulations again to the proud parents! xoxo hannah

Ag Hill Grazers 2009

tailgate1
This year we decided to host our own Auburn tailgate along with some of our dearest friends. I've uploaded some photos from last week, so enjoy...and, WAR EAGLE!!
Photobucket
Since I now work at the university, it's our job to rope-off our tailgate spot on Friday afternoon. So, out of convenience more than anything, we picked the grassy lawn in front of Comer Hall at the College of Ag. And, boy did we luck up! We're right under a beautiful magnolia tree next to the parking lot, so we get to watch the televisions in the shade! It's so amazing!!
tailgate3
My sister, Audrey, painted these pots! Aren't they beautiful? She's so talented!
Photobucket
Little miss, Parker Pate, loves her jewelry...and mine, too! She managed to try on my necklace while I was wearing it!
tailgate5.1
Vanessa Kleypas, her sister Angie, and Angie's fiancee, Joe. They brought cookies & made vanilla ice cream....yummy!
Photobucket
The Dixon girls + 1 = FUN! Glad they could enjoy the day with us!
tailgate7
Our very own tailgate mamas! Anna Pate and Brigitte Ashley, and their bumps! Both are due in February and we couldn't be more excited! Lot's of sewing to do for these little angels!
tailgate8
Last, but not least, Parker giggling! She's so cute!

Leigh's Little Onesies

hannah_onesies1
A great friend and coworker, Leigh Hinton, is an amazing artist! She creates the most beautiful quilts with fabric she dyes in her studio. She had several friends she needed to give baby gifts to, so these cute onesies were born! She used several different processes to build up the different layers of color. I just think they are beautiful! If I had a baby....it would wear them all the time!

She even put her signature mark on the sleeve! It's just precious!

Jillian's Gators

hannah_jillian1
I'm so excited to show-off my very first model!! This is Jillian Gastley, daughter of a wonderful family friend Dara Gastley, who grew-up with my husband, Matthew, in Bonifay, FL. As you can see, Florida was the inspiration behind this dress!
hannah_jillian3
Dara is a skilled photographer, so I am very lucky to have a professional document my work. Check out her site at http://daragastleyphotography.shutterfly.com/.
Photobucket
This little dress has received a lot of attention from football fans! Thanks to Dara, I'm going to start working on an unofficial SEC series! So, if you're more into tigers, dawgs, elephants or even seminoles....stay tuned!!
Photobucket
Thanks again Dara and Jillian!! The dress is cute, but Jillian is so much cuter!!
